This was a great shot taken right before opening kickoff between the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers at Soldier Field, fall of 2006. Looking at the photo now, the sun filled the entire stadium, radiant and in full glory.
This game was a total blowout by the way, the Bears were up by like 30 or 40 points by halftime. Rex Grossman sat out pretty much most of the second half, with Brian Griese doing mop up duty and perhaps even third stringer Kyle Orton got to play a couple of snaps.
Alex Smith was the 49ers QB, he got pretty roughed up that day. But, as far as I know, he played much better since.
