At Least the Cheerleaders are Hot: A 2007 Houston Texans Preview

Let's see. 1st pick in the 2006 Draft. Pass on Reggie Bush, pass on Vince Young, draft Mario Williams. Bush and Young were both worthy of the Rookie of the Year award, and Williams was pretty invisible for most of the year. Former #1 pick, David Carr, was sacked 249 times in his 5 year career, and it's decided that he's the problem, so he's released. Their 2 big off-season moves were signing halfback Ahman Green (a great move had it been 5 years ago), and quarterback Matt Schaub (who's probably not much better than Carr and just like Carr, he's gonna get sacked 40-50 times this year). Rather than bore you with debates on how many games Ahman Green will actually play, or if Keenan McCardell will win a starting receiver job, sit back and enjoy some images of the 2007 Texans cheerleading squad:

Holy crap! They actually have twins! If you have tickets to a upcoming Texans game, all is not lost. Hopefully you're sitting close to the field, on the Texans side. If not, bring a pair of binoculars, and keep your eyes glued to the sideline where the real action will be happening.

I wish there was something interesting about the actual football team to talk about. Unfortunately, they're a pretty bad team in a pretty competitive AFC. It's a shame that there are a couple of good players (Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, and Morlon Greenwood come to mind), who just won't get the recognition they deserve because they're stuck on the Texans. Passing on Bush and Young really set this franchise back, and I don't see them improving any time soon.

Prediction: 4-12, last place AFC South
