Tussock Traverse run
January 30th, 2008
On Saturday I competed in a fantastic trail running event in Tongariro National Park - the Tussock Traverse.
The terrain was amazing - Tongariro is an area with two large volcanoes - it was like running on the moon. The ground was covered in dust and rocks, and the 'track' was really just a case of following marker pegs. Here's a shot of the course (the run is the blue line - 26km).

Here's the elevation profile of the run:

Definitely one of the most unique and interesting runs I have enetered in the past few years. Top marks to the organisers too - first rate effort and very friendly people.
